❤️ We Have A Match!!!!

IT FINALLY HAPPENED!!! We can't even believe we are writing this, but we matched with the most amazing, strong, and selfless surrogate we could have ever asked for.

On September 5th, to our surprise, we received an email from IARC with a profile they thought would be a good fit for us. Her name is Jane and lives up in northern Minnesota with her husband and three adorable children. Jane had gone through a previous journey with IARC, and it was very successful (IARC calls her a superstar surrogate 😊) carrying to full term without any complications, and has been medically cleared to start another journey in early 2022 as there is a certain time required in between journeys for it to be medically safe for all parties.

Though we ideally didn't want to wait until 2022, we had already been waiting this long and figured there was some bigger reason we were being connected. Jane had previously been matched with another couple and unfortunately couldn't come to terms during their initial meet and greet. She ideally had wanted to work with a somewhat regional/local couple and given we were the next couple on the local wait list, IARC thought it could be a perfect match. Immediately after reading Jane's autobiography, we just had a feeling in our gut, like we had known her forever, or as if she was already part of our family... so we agreed to do an initial meet and greet over a zoom call on September 10th.

The initial meet and greet call couldn't have gone any better, we both immediately felt connected to her, just like our gut was telling us, and even better is that she felt the same way about us! We discussed a variety of topics, including general information like work, lifestyle, previous pregnancies, birth and post-birth expectations, and our fertility clinic. Jane is so on top of everything, and very much easygoing, so we just clicked instantly without any hesitation. We could tell right away that she is doing this for all the right reasons, and has the warmest heart ever! We all agreed at the end of the call that we were a great match and would like to move forward in creating a GCA (Gestational Carrier Agreement), which is basically just a contract that outlines what we are all agreeing to.

That is our next step now, to create and sign a GCA, and sounds like it could take a little time to review back and forth with attorneys to make sure we all are on the same page and in agreement... but based on our initial meeting, we are very confident there will not be any issues with that and should go fairly smooth. So here is to us matching with the best surrogate possible and to the next steps!! 🎉
